Tokyo Global Studio is an English video teaching material created by the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education in collaboration with a diverse array of institutions to allow students to experience the fun and usefulness of using English.
This website has 100 videos aimed at elementary, junior high and high school students, as well as educators.
Teaching materials for elementary and junior high school students are based on the Course of Study, and those for high school students are developed more broadly with a basis in the Course of Study.
Magical English School has songs and games that allow children to interact with English in a fun, natural way towards the start of foreign language activities in the third year of elementary school.
Please feel free to use it in a variety of situations, like in class at schools, in online classes and in home study.
Characteristics of the Teaching Materials at TokyoGlobalStudio
Beginner(External link) (mainly from elementary school year three and four)
With Tokyo Global Studio Beginner, students are able to enjoy learning the key phrases and words from through songs, chants, games and quizzes.
There’s also a section for alphabet study in the second half of the videos.
Pre- beginner (mainly from elementary school year one and year two) (External link)
Elementary(External link) (mainly from elementary school year five and six)
Students are able to enjoy learning key phrases and words in the elementary school textbook through conversations that are time, place and occasion appropriate.
Students can practice writing through included worksheets that allowed them to trace, copy, etc., the words and sentences in the videos.
Basic(External link) (mainly from junior high school)
Students are able to learn key junior high school grammar points along with useful phrases through dramatizations showing substantive use cases.
Work sheets to deepen understanding that are aimed at helping students remember what they learned are included.
Students can train their speaking with reading aloud sections and answering questions in the second half of the videos.
Intermediate(External link) (mainly from high school)
Students are able to use English and learn about it in an exploratory sense through lectures and discussions on a wide variety of themes that are conscious of integration of arts and sciences and STEAM.
Students can interact with high-level content through the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education’s cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and administrative organs using things such as the memorandum related to education.
Records to help students learn the words that appeared in videos and work sheets to deepen understanding of lectures and with lists are included.
