The English Speaking Achievement test for Junior High School Students

The Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education runs a structured and continuous English education curriculum from elementary school to junior high and high school in order to enable high school students to further improve the English communication skills they obtained at elementary and junior high school. Additionally, the English Speaking Achievement Test for Junior High School Students (ESAT-J) has been held for students in every year at public junior high schools in Tokyo.

About the English Speaking Achievement test for Junior High School Students

Aims

  1. To give students practical English abilities through an integrated English education program from elementary to junior high and high school.
  2. To objectively evaluate the speaking ability that students have equipped themselves with through learning in junior high school and to enrich and smoothly link English tuition in junior high and high schools.
